Erika Christensen

Unlike many celebrity Scientologists, Erika Christensen was actually born into the religion and was home-schooled by her parents based on its teachings. The “Parenthood” actress, 30, even considers Tom Cruise as one of her mentors. "Scientology helps me in acting to focus on communication," she told the New York Daily News in 2004. “It's almost a safety precaution when you're an actor, because some people can be traumatized by characters, and I don't have to worry about that.”

Looking to kick her cocaine addiction, Kirstie Alley first got into Scientology through Narconan, its drug treatment program. Over the years, the outspoken actress, 61, has been very vocal in her defense of her religion, including speaking out against Vanity Fair’s most recent expose on Tom Cruise and Scientology. In a 2010 interview with Babble.com, she ranted about people’s fixation on Scientology, saying, “We think certain things are barbaric like lobotomy, electroshock, unnecessary drugging of people; we’re pretty outspoken about it. There’s a lot of money behind drug companies. But you’d never say, ‘What religion is Jenny Craig?’ Or J.Lo, who has a clothing line. ‘Oh my god! This is a front for Catholics!’”
